Shop KeriKit :

How do you describe to people what you do and your design style?

I try to give women both in work or new mothers beautiful well made and well designed products that allow them to keep their individuality and look beautiful whilst in an organised manner!

What sort of comments do you get about your designs?

Everyone has loved the smell and quality of the leather and the size of my bags. They are big bags so that you can actually fit everything inside with ease. The unique IRO has been a great success allowing customers to keep everything in place and easy to find.

What is your background?

I studied Fashion Design at Northumbria university before living in Hong Kong for 2 years as an accessories designer. I then returned to the UK and worked my way up to Head of Design for a supplier to the high street where we supplied everyone from Shanghai Tang to George at Asda. I then went on to become a senior buyer of accessories for 7 years at TK Maxx before leaving to set up my own brand.

Which designers do you rate highly and why?

I Love the work of designers such as Galliano, Gaultier and the late Alexander Mc Queen for their flamboyancy and their portrayal of the female form in a strong and positive way. (more...)

For the last 150 years you could find “carpet” bags made of tapestry, kilim, velour and even simple cloth, some of them even have Oriental patterns, but none of them were made of real plushy carpet. We have closely examined all possible modern materials and technologies, and have found those that meet a performance capability of modern machinery, all high quality requirements of the real Victorian Carpet bags and modern health and safety standards.

What sort of comments do you get about your designs?

From “Oh, my granny had a carpet just like this” and “Remember that old dirty carpet we have somewhere in the garage – this is great idea to put it in use!” (This is usually men to their wives or daughters) to “Oh, my God! Do you aware how much it costs at Burberry (Ralph Lauren/Louis Vuitton/etc)?”
(Actually yes, I am aware! Those prices are usually one zero “better” than ours.)

What is your background?

I was a graphic designer for a couple of decades and my latest speciality was localization: languages, alphabets, fonts and cultural differences. I have worked with 46 languages and 9 (more...)
