How do you describe to people what you do and your design style?

I use a combination of photography and painting to create scarf designs. I use my knowledge of historical and contemporary artistic practice to create photographic imagery, which is adapted to suit garments through colour enhancement and painting.

What sort of comments do you get about your designs?

I think the whole experience of colour upon silk chiffon usually makes people use words such as "delicate" and "beautiful" I often get asked where my inspiration comes from as well, and the processes involved in creating my designs.

What is your background?

I have a qualification in Graphic Design and a First Class BA Honors in photography. I always loved art but found frustration in the fact that I cannot draw, through graphic design and photography I have found a tool for which I can output my ideas and create my art.

Which designers do you rate highly and why?

I love love love Lulu Guinness, I think her designs are unique, yet they combine enough wit and glamour to create truly desirable pieces!

A perhaps less known designer who I also love is Anastasia Komarova, her designs blow my mind! Komarovas handbag line "forms" is just phenomenal, her background in architecture has (more...)
