FINALLY the sun has decided to get its hat on and come out to play! And, quite frankly, it couldn’t have chosen a better time. With Jubilee bank holiday fast approaching here’s hoping it holds out whilst we light up barbies; line our streets with bunting; bring out tables laden with jam, cream, scones and strawberries; pop open the bubbly, sip on some Pimm’s, sober up with some tea, get going again with some gin (Bombay Sapphire of course!), have a spin on the dance floor, reacquaint yourself with the punch bowl…All in honour of our monarch’s 60th year on the throne!
Ok, maybe I’ve emphasised liquid consumption a little too much here but with not one, but two bank holidays gifted to us you would be mad not to cram in as much fun as possible. From village fetes and family picnics to dinner parties and boozy balls there’s certainly an eclectic mix of fun and festivity ahead and only one problem: what to wear? Rest assured, with all the British designers on offer at IndependentBoutique.com you can celebrate the best of the British whatever the occasion. So get out your party poppers and get ready for a right royal romp! Read More…..

SS 2012 Jumpsuits
First up is Diane Von Furstenburg’s pyjama trend that has caused a wave of controversy within the fashion world. Is it too laid back (or dare we say, chavvy?) or is it a fresh burst of Arabian nights inspired cover-up worthy of our adoration? Well if it’s good enough for Rihanna and Diane Kruger, who have both been spotted championing this look, then we’re in! Floaty fabrics and elegant prints are the order of the day to achieve a catwalk worthy look but for those of us that aren’t A-listers and therefore fear being spotted out and about in your nightwear, our version of this trend is a more toned down affair with subtle nods to a refreshing summer vision… Read More…..

Clearly there’s an old head balanced on her young shoulders and the new pieces we have at IndependentBoutique.com show just that. Take it out, hug it, cuddle it; you can do whatever you want with the humble handbag… they’re pretty special and we’d be lost without them!
Other than diamonds, bags are most definitely a girl’s best friend. We find it is impossible to leave the house without the right bag (and of course it has to match with what you’re wearing too) and you don’t care if the house is a mess, or the fact you’ve been rummaging around at least 20 minutes to find the right style of bag. No, it has to be just right.
Bags must also suit your mood too or where you plan to go that day. I love a good spacious handbag as I cannot be dealing with a miniature bag that is about the size of my hand. They might be pretty yes, but for practical daily use; small bags are a big no-no. That’s why I’ve picked these three bags as for one they are good to use day in day out and two; they’re stylish and full of sophistication. Go wild!
The Spacious (yet pretty) Bag
This ‘Classic Italian’ bag just oozes vibrancy and class. The design itself is unique and the material is luxurious leather. The 50s feel about the bag compliments the era nicely and shows a great style statement. If you’re adventurous and like to try new things with your style, this is a great bag to showcase this. The strap itself can be worn over the arm or shoulder, so not only is it beautiful leather but its practical for a busy day ahead too. For upcoming trends, this type of bag is great to show off all summer. It looks and will feel great, why not make a new statement today?
How fab did Made in Chelsea star Caggie Dunlop look at the FHM’s Sexiest Women In The World Awards in London a couple of weeks ago? We think she looked amazing, especially whilst clutching her Contrast Suede and Leather Clutch Bag by Karrah Designs. She teamed it with high platform courts and a beautiful drape dress. A first class red carpet look in our opinion!
